Concerned About You, Inc. (C.A.Y) is a
faith based non-profit organization designed to empower our community to
better self-sufficiency. We administer a training program for Colorado
Department of Transportation (CDOT). The program allows individuals a
second chance at obtaining job opportunities within the highway
construction industry.
NO One is turned away; The CAY program targets the economic
development of the African American communities of Denver and addresses
the huge disparity of African Americans in the CDOT workforce and
contractor industry. |

What kind of training? |
|
|
|
Training is for developing basic work
skills needed for entry level jobs. The training will be approximately
five weeks. And longer if you go to additional training such as: CDL
certification, Heavy Equipment Operations, you may attend apprenticeships for carpenter, electricians, plumber,
ironworkers, etc. |

How much does it cost? |
|
|
|
The Training cost is paid for by
sponsors, although you must apply and make a commitment to participate and
complete the training and work in Highway construction. |

How do I qualify |
|
When is the Training? |
|
|
|
You must have an interest in highway
construction jobs. |
|
|
You must have a valid CO driver
license. |
|
|
You must be able to read & write in English. |
|
|
You must be legally available and able to
work. |
|
|
You must be 18 years of age or older. |
|
|
You must be drug-free. |

After training
what type of wages can
I expect to earn?
|
|
|
|
Only graduates will be provided job
placement services. Starting wages may begin at $10.00 and above per hour
with Highway Construction Companies. Colorado Department of Transportation
may start at $ 12.00 an hour. |
